Yawning, she rolled over in her bed, snuggling under the covers and keeping her eyes closed. Rixnae didn't want to get out of the bed her and Nayax shared just yet. Tossing the blanket partially over her head, she noted that the other half of the bed was empty lighter. Good, she thought, stretching downward and sideways, making herself diagonal, I can stretch out more. Whatever God knows I need a good one...

She could hardly believe that so much had changed for her in such a short time. Soon, around the time of her son's birth, she thought, she would be through her first year as a Nobody.

And what a year it had been.

Her life had flipped upside down and made a 180-degree turn the day she had joined up. She smiled a little, remembering how nervous she'd been, and how relieved she'd been once she'd been accepted in. They were not always close (with some members just outright hating each other), yet they felt like a family to her.

She would probably never just how quite or why she'd become the creature she was, but she couldn't be more grateful, for had she not, she never would have met these people. She kept smiling, flashes of memories going through her mind as she tried to fall back asleep.

The first time she'd met everyone.
The time her and Jinx had blown up that building in Halloween Town.
FINALLY getting to sit and have tea with the alligator of the Tower. With Sani joining them.
Any crazy stunt her and Jinx had pulled, really.

Of course there were the bad times, but right now wasn't the time to think about them. Not when she was on the brink of sleep, where bad memories could fester as nightmares. She'd had enough of those to last her a lifetime already, thank you very much.

And those memories weren't something she wanted to think on anyway; not any more than she had to. Though current circumstances could be bringing those up again....

No, she thought, smushing her eyes shut and rolling over, placing a hand on the swollen  bump that was now her stomach. I'll think about those later. When we deal with the girl.

Calming down, she smiled to herself again, settling back in the peace of her happy memories. So much had happened, had changed her, even sometimes changing how she thought about things and people. But if one thing had changed her the most, it had to be her impending motherhood.

Since losing her birthparents, she'd felt somewhat isolated, and alone. Having been an only child as well, she never had the fun of arguing with siblings. She would also admit that even into her adulthood, that she'd become reckless, even selfish at times, when it came to something she felt she wanted or needed.

But now, that was different. Or so it seemed to her.

She'd always wanted children; plural, because she knew she could never have just one and be happy with it. No, being orphaned, she wanted a lot of kids, to a point. Not too many that she couldn't keep track of them, but what would be enough for her. Grinning with happiness and almost glowing in her motherhood, she nuzzled the pillow as she felt a small movement in her womb. Ever since Jinx had changed gender for that brief period to make her a mother, Rix had changed a little more.

It may not seem like it, but she was almost sure.

Because now, it wasn't about her anymore.
It was about her son, because he needed his parents, and also his godparents.

And smiling at the thought of the large family Drystan already had, she drifted back off to sleep.
Yeah. .w. For a contest for OE. I'm not sure how good it is, or even that it meets requirements.

But I think maybe I should post something anyway.

Rixnae and Drystan belong to me, :icondemyx-muffin:

Everyone else belongs to their owners.
