The Pride lands. A place she'd never been before. As she looked around taking in the view, she made sure that she still had her bag on her shoulder. And what she saw surprised the hell outta her.

She wasn't human.

She had fur, and four legs.

She blinked her eye, staying still just for a moment, trying to take everything in. Her tail twitched, her ears perked up. They felt… large. She licked her lips, feeling her tongue scratch the fur there, feeling the sharper teeth in her jaw. She sat on her haunches, bringing up her paws one at a time, then both together, looking to see what markings there were.

She didn't feel huge, but she didn't feel tiny either. She was sure she wasn't a lion, or a cheetah… yet Ryxeme wasn't sure what other felines lived in Africa. She didn't know much about the place, after all, and she had nothing to look at herself with.

She shook her head, starting to walk forward. She looked around, trying to make sure that other creatures didn't spot her. Not knowing whatever creature she was habits, she wasn't sure she should even be out at this time. Daylight was fading fast, but there was no guarantee that her species was nocturnal. However, she had no choice; she had to keep going, and get her mission done.

It seemed that her missing eye was less of an issue here than it normally was. Having been without it for two years now, she was used to not being able to see on that side. However, her vision seemed much better in this form, and with her other senses, it was much less noticeable to her.

She kept going, noticing a large stone formation in the distance. This might be a good place to hide one of these things, she thought, creeping closer. As she went, she noticed a strange scent in the air. Yet not being used to being able to tell what things are just by scent alone, she ignored it, trotting onwards. Ryxeme soon stopped and flattened herself, noticing movement. She slinked behind some rocks, peeking out to see what it could be.

There were lions, patrolling near where she wanted to go. She stood there, fascinated for a minute, her eye wide. She'd never seen any kind of wild animal before, and here was something she'd only heard stories about. Her ears flattened; she almost felt humbled. Almost. She waited, and once they were out of site, heading up to the rock, she darted forward, staying close to the ground. She took out one of the devices, struggling until she was able to get it out. She set the tracker down, hidden in the space between a wall and a rock under the shadows.

One down, four to go.

Her ears perked, Ryxeme turned and trotted off, meowing and purring as she did so. This body, it fascinated her; she made a note to research what she could be once she got home. She kept going, noticing a cool scent in the air. As she went towards it, she noticed a rushing sound, before she came upon her destination – a watering hole. Tilting her head, she left a growl slip out at the water, remembering the last time she'd been near some. She prowled around the edge, looking for a place she could hide another tracker. This seemed to be a place a lot of creatures would come, so naturally Heartless would be attracted to the place, right? She scoured, her tail thrashing as she got more and more frustrated. She could see no place to hide it, yet she was sure Xain and Zen would throw fits if she buried it. Sighing, Ryx finally found a spot to hide it, under a rock that hung over the shore of the watering hole and even protruded over it a bit, she hid the second tracker under there.

Before she left, she peeked into the river. From what she could see from her reflection, her ears were huge and oval-like. Her nose was black, and she noticed quite a few spots on her body.

She was sure that it wasn't likely to be disturbed. Three more to place on this world.

Leaving the watering hole, she looked up at the sky. So many stars, and the moon was huge, lighting up the night sky. It was odd to her, always having had the city lights in Nyale, and Prymend had it's share of light as well, so she'd never paid attention to the stars and such on her own world. The beauty of what she was seeing struck her, and she purred once more as she kept moving.

She wasn't paying attention to where she was going, and soon found herself in a dark, dismal place. There were bones and skeletons everywhere she looked, and no vegetation to be found. She heard some laughter, a couple cackles, and her ears perked up, listening for every little sound. Ryxeme stumbled on a bone, nearly slipping, and hissed out in alarm. She wanted out of this place quickly; it was giving her the creeps. She made her way to a skull, large and tusked, and quickly got out a tracker and slipped it in through an eye socket.

She didn't care if that one was hidden well enough or not, she didn't want to be around dead things longer than she needed to be.

Two more to go.

She noticed a path near the one she'd just exited. Taking it, she followed it, noticing how the plains went to dirt and dust, and then into lush grass and plant life. It was cooler here, in the shade of the trees, and she examined this place carefully. This place was almost everything a creature could want, fresh water, nice places to sleep, some decent prey for smaller carnivores, as far as she could tell. Maybe it was different in the daytime?

It was almost pleasant here, and she noticed plenty of spaces she could hide a tracker. However, she did not want to leave both of the ones she had in this place. She needed to think; this world was very large, after all. Finally, she found a tree, with large gaps in the roots. Ryxeme slipped her body through, placing one in there. Slipping her way out, she left the oasis behind, tail twitching with excitement.

It seemed dawn would be here soon, and she only had one more to go.

She ran back to the plains, feeling the muscles of her long legs working, stretching out her paws to feel her paws extend. Soon she slowed, panting a bit, looking around. The sky was already lightening, and some birds were starting to wake and call to each other. She needed to find one last place, and then she would be able to return home, her mission at least completed. She'd need to let them know how it went, and the Superiors could determine whether or not she failed.

Ryxeme wasn't sure if she cared either way.

Yawning a bit, she noticed another tree. It didn't have gaps in the roots, but it did have a hole in it. Going up and climbing the tree, she placed the last one inside of it. She leapt down, then stretched herself out.

Briefly, she debated hunting, for something to eat. However, she decided against this as well; she'd get something to eat at the place she was calling home.

Ryxeme opened a portal, walking through it back to her room. She threw the bag into her closet, and stretched herself out, yawning. Slowly stripping off her coat and clothes, she put on a nice looking nightgown and crawled into bed, kissing the head of the kitten sleeping on the pillow closest to hers. Tomorrow, once she was done getting ready for the day, she would type up a report for Xain and Zen. Right now, she was tired, and needed her sleep.
MISSION: PLACE THE DEVICES
Type: Major (1), Task
Party: Solo/Partner Mission
Objective: Take the supplied devices and head out to a world. Plant the devices in hidden locations where they will not be disturbed, and hidden from the elements as well. Try to distribute them evenly throughout the world.
Why: These devices will help us track Heartless movement to allow for better mission planning in the future, as well as more assurance for member safety.
Notes:
-DO NOT BE SEEN. Stealth is important! Do not engage Somebodies and avoid unnecessary contact with Heartless! Failure to do so may compromise the mission!
-Handle the devices with care! These things were expensive to make, and damage expenses will come out of YOUR pocket

Ryxeme (along with the rest of Discordiae) were assigned to place some Trackers onto various worlds. Ryxeme was given the Pridelands, and hid five trackers while in the form of a serval. (this is what a serval is, in case you didn't know: [link] )
